David Morken

Co-founder, Chief Executive Officer and Chairman

After starting the company in his spare bedroom in 1999, Bandwidth has grown into one of the most trusted cloud platforms powering the global digital communications revolution. Equally innovative is the unique, mission-first culture developed to help “bandmates” stay highly engaged, healthy and balanced at work and in life. This culture has helped Bandwidth earn a reputation for customer service excellence, as there’s always a world-class bandmate on the other end of the line eager to go the extra mile.

In addition to Bandwidth’s many global giving, volunteering and community engagement programs, David is co-founder of Durham Cares, which fosters collaboration, leadership and outreach in Durham, North Carolina.

In 2010 he co-founded and served as chairman and CEO of Republic Wireless, which grew into a game-changing low-cost provider spun out of Bandwidth in 2016 and acquired by Dish Network in 2021. He is also the co-founder and Chairman of RelayPro, an innovative communications solution for frontline teams.

In 1994, David co-founded the Internet’s first online tax filing service, efiling.com. He was called to active duty by the Marine Corps in 1995 and served four years as a Judge Advocate, criminal prosecutor, Special Assistant U.S. Attorney, and Headquarters Company Commander. He is a graduate of the University of Notre Dame Law School and a member of the Virginia Bar Association. He received his undergraduate degree from Oral Roberts University, where he served as President of the Student Association.
